<p>When you want to stop eating at night do this&#8230;</p>
<p>Brush your teeth.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know about you but I&#8217;m super lazy at night so when I want to stop eating I just brush my teeth at night.  It stops you from eating because you think about the process you just did (flossing, brushing etc&#8230;) and you don&#8217;t want to go back and do those things again.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s worked for me 99% of the time and it&#8217;ll work for you too!</p>

<p>Something tells me that when I get back, I&#8217;ll need a vacation away from that vacation just to get my mind right.  I&#8217;ll have pics up here and on my <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="http://www.facebook.com/dangofitness">Facebook page</a>.</strong></span></p>
<p>When I consult with women who take the free trial for my <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><a href="http://www.gogirlbootcamps.com" target="_blank">Markham Boot camp</a></span></span>, one of the things they always mention is that they want a tighter tush, apple bottom, butt, glutes&#8230;whatever you want to call it.</p>
<p>They want to look good in dem jeans!</p>
<p>Even if you look amazing in those jeans&#8230;and I&#8217;m pretty sure you do&#8230;you&#8217;ll want to do these 3 exercises to tone and tighten that butt so it will turn a couple of heads.  Fall season is coming so you&#8217;ll need to dust those off and put them back on.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey there&#8230;hope you are doing awesome and really enjoying this amazing summer we are having in Canada.</p>
<p>I just came back from Mexico a couple days ago and I am fully recovered from the vacation.  Sometimes when I get back from vacation I need a couple days to recover and get back on track&#8230;and not so lazy!</p>
<p>And I&#8217;ll be honest&#8230;on this trip I gained a good 4 pounds&#8230;and it wasn&#8217;t muscle.  I&#8217;ll tell you all about it next week.</p>
<p>I wanted to leave you this quick tip that will really help you stick to a plan and burn off those last ounces of fat from your body.</p>
<p>The thing is&#8230;you know what to do when it comes to eating right and exercising the right way.  It&#8217;s just doing it that&#8217;s the hard part.</p>
<p>I just got this tip from world renowned nutrition expert John Berardi and I&#8217;ll let you hear it from his own words:</p>
<p>    &#8220;It&#8217;s funny, Nate. A lot of guys already know how to get in great shape from a physical standpoint. They know they need to train and eat well, The difficulty is doing it every day and staying consistent. One thing I personally do and would recommend is to go buy one of those huge calendars and stick it some place where you&#8217;ll see it every day. Maybe in your office or even on your kitchen counter. This is your new tracking system and its only purpose is to make sure you don&#8217;t screw up.</p>
<p>    Every day you stick to your training program, put a giant slash from the upper left corner to the lower right. And every day you stick to your nutrition plan, put another giant slash from the upper right corner to the lower left. This makes a huge X.</p>
<p>    As you finish each day, you should have a big X marking your progress. Your success is really going to come down to this visual reminder and your ability to stick to the plan. If at the end of the month you have all X&#8217;s, you&#8217;re more than likely going to be very pleased with your results. If you don&#8217;t, you&#8217;re going to be disappointed in yourself and will have concrete evidence of why you failed.</p>
<p>    If that&#8217;s not motivation to stick to it, I&#8217;m not sure what is.&#8221;</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know about you but I&#8217;m definitely getting out my calendar right now and starting today.  I&#8217;m hitting Vegas at the end of August for my friend&#8217;s bachelor party and I need to get my body back!</p>
<p>Take action now and grab that calendar, start eating right, exercising right and give yourself 30 days to do this.  That&#8217;s really all it takes to have a totally different body staring at you back in the mirror.</p>
<p>Your clothes will love you for it!</p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">I thought about this in the shower and I really had to jot down all the things I did wrong when I started down this journey to a leaner &#8216;Me?  As much as I like to think I started off perfect&#8230;I made a ton of mistakes along the way.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Doing these mistakes hindered me in the biggest way and also stunted whatever progress I should have made.  <strong></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>In short:  If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten from being an overweight dude with man boobs to the leaner version I am today&#8230;.IN ONE THIRD THE TIME&#8230;.probably less&#8230;by not doing these mistakes.<br />
</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">It&#8217;s a truth that you learn from the mistakes you make in life&#8230;well now you have the opportunity to learn from my mistakes.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">So when you are aiming for fat loss in these last 7 weeks until labour day&#8230;do the opposite of the things I list out for you.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">My Laundry list of fat loss mistakes:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">1. I thought doing <a href="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/markham-gymsecret/" target="_blank">long cardio sessions (half hour to an hour)</a> was the only way to fat loss.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">2. I did what every other person did at the gym, which was body part training.  On Monday&#8217;s I trained back and chest, Wednesdays was arms day and Friday was legs day&#8230;.or arms day again. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">3.  I thought I could out-exercise my diet.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">4.  I didn&#8217;t eat 5-6 times a day&#8230;I wasn&#8217;t eating breakfast at the time either.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">5.  I didn&#8217;t drink water.  I drank juices, pop&#8230;anything but water.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">6. I didn&#8217;t stretch after my workouts.  And when I did it was only static stretching.  Now I do AIS stretching and I get my boot camp clients to do it too&#8230;because it is that good!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">7.  <a href="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/markham-personal-trainer-lists-out-8-reasons-to-write-a-food-journal/">I didn&#8217;t keep a food journal</a>&#8230;.this was one of my BIGGEST MISTAKES.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">8.  I ate carbs at night.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">9.  Frankly I ate more at night than I did in the morning.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">10. I didn&#8217;t curb my night time cravings by brushing my teeth after my last meal.  This does wonders in stopping you from overeating at night.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">11. I didn&#8217;t do interval training.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">12. I didn&#8217;t do <a href="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/5-fat-loss-techniques-you-should-be-doing-now-at-your-markham-gym/" target="_blank">circuit training.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">13. For abs I did crunches and leg raises.  These did nothing for my abs but they did a wonder in really messing up my lower back.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">14. I didn&#8217;t visualize myself daily in the idealized version I wanted to be.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">15. I didn&#8217;t cook my own food. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">16. I ate out a lot.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">17. I drank alcohol on the weekends and totally messed up whatever training I did for myself that week.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">18. I didn&#8217;t focus on stabilizing ab exercises like planks, side planks, ab rolls, mountain climbers etc&#8230;.these are amazing at working those deep inner ab muscles.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">19. Being a guy, I worked on my chest a lot.  Way too much.  It brought my shoulders in and I looked like a goofball.  A disproportionate goof ball.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">20. <strong>I didn&#8217;t study nor invest in my education on how to build a better body until about a year into my training.</strong> Doing what you are doing right now:  investing, reading, studying from those who have done it, been there before and helping others is going to give you faster results than listening to Bobby Big Arms at the gym who got his education from reading magazines like Muscle and Fiction.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">21.  I read too many bodybuilding magazines.  The information in there is so freaking pedestrian and works for bodybuilders who are taking so much drugs that they can start their own pharmacy.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">22.  I didn&#8217;t ask enough.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">23.  I took in way too many carbs than I should have.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">24.  I tried to count calories instead of eating by principles.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">25.  I didn&#8217;t get enough sleep.  I got maybe around 6 hours a night.  I should have been getting at least 8.</span></p>

I rationalized too much about why I was eating what I was eating.  I had a lot of excuses like, &#8220;<em>I&#8217;m so stressed.</em>&#8220;, &#8220;<em>I deserve this, I had such a good workout in the gym today!</em>&#8220;, &#8220;<em>One fry won&#8217;t hurt&#8230;I&#8217;ll only have one&#8230;</em>&#8221;  All of them sucked and didn&#8217;t get me anywhere.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">27.  I didn&#8217;t put myself around people who had the same goals for themselves.  This is why my <span style="color: #0000ff;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="http://www.gogirlbootcamps.com">Markham Boot Camps</a></strong></span></span></span> work so well.  The women have all the same goals and support each other to stick to their diets.  Probably the reason why the results I get in the boot camps is better than the results I got with personal training clients.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Well those are my biggest mistakes and I&#8217;m not ashamed to admit them because they gave me an education you can&#8217;t buy.</span><br />

<p>I came across this nutrition program when I went to my fitness conference in California.</p>
<p>Can you really eat chips, ice cream, pizza and all the other things you should stay away from&#8230;.and still be able to drop weight?</p>
<p>I&#8217;m extremely protective about the information I send you because if the program does not work&#8230;I&#8217;m in deep doo doo.</p>
<p>So I did what I always do in these situations:  I tried it on myself&#8230;then I tested it on a select number of my<a href="http://www.gogirlbootcamps.com"> <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>Markham boot camp</strong></span></a><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong> clients.</strong></span></p>
<p>The results have been pretty crazy:</p>
<p>- Krystin lost 10 pounds<br />
- Jackie lost 11 pounds<br />
- I lost 5 pounds and&#8230;</p>
<p>This was all in a span of 4 weeks and we got to have a cheat day where we could eat anything we wanted.</p>
<p>In fact&#8230;a cheat day is what you need to increase weight loss&#8230;but be careful&#8230;it has tobe done in a certain way for it to work.</p>

<p>I am about 17 days away from my week long vacation in the Mayan Riviera and I am super excited about it.  This means I&#8217;m writing in my <a href="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/markham-personal-trainer-lists-out-8-reasons-to-write-a-food-journal/">food journal</a>, low carbing it for the next 3 weeks, hitting up my metabolic circuits hard and only doing the high return exercises that will get me lean fast.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m also making sure I&#8217;m enjoying myself this summer.  I hit up a new Japanese tapas restaurant in Toronto called Guu and it was AMAZING.  I caught the Brazil Germany World Cup game at Real Sports, which is the biggest sports bar in Canada and then I hit up my lake in Stouffville to do some swimming on Sunday because it was HOT!</p>
<p>The most popular question I always get is how to get rid of the belly and get a firmer mid section.  I want you to remember that the very BEST ab exercise is pushing the dinner table away from you.  Meaning you want to eat right the right way with the right foods.  </p>
<p>Diet is SUPER IMPORTANT when getting that flat stomach you desire.</p>
<p>Exercise is just as important and&#8230;when it comes to abs&#8230;you definitely can&#8217;t go wrong with this exercise.  </p>
<p>It is a high level exercise and has to be done with caution (especially with those who have a tight lower back/hips).  It is so good I&#8217;m getting a bunch of these for my <a href="http://www.gogirlbootcamps.com">markham boot camps</a>.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s called&#8230;The Ab Wheel.  </p>

<p>It sounds so simple but yet it is so damn effective.</p>
<p>The best ab exercises you can do to develop your abs are ones that use your abs as stabilizers (ie. planks, mountain climbers, side planks) rather than traditional ones like crunches, leg raises etc&#8230;</p>
<p>The reason is because when you use your abs as a stabilizer you are actually working those deep abdominal muscles that really develop your mid section.</p>
<p>The Ab wheel really fires up those deep abdominal muscles and you will end up feeling a sore in your abs like you have never felt before!</p>
<p>How to do it:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/kneewheels.jpg"><img src="http://www.torontofatlossblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/kneewheels-300x225.jpg" alt="" title="kneewheels" width="300" height="225" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-780" /></a></p>
<p>- Start with the knees on the ground, wheel at your knees, with your arms straight below you.<br />
- Now roll the wheel out&#8230;and keep your abs braced and glutes squeezed<br />
- &#8230;until you&#8217;re laid out as far as you can go, but still under control. Then pull everything back to starting position.</p>
<p>A slight pinching in the lower back, indicating a large arch in the lower back, is the best way to determine that you&#8217;ve lost good form and/or you are not doing it correctly.  </p>
<p>If you are just beginning to work out or if you feel insecure doing this exercise then avoid it at all costs.  I would definitely get a markham personal trainer to spot you to make sure you are doing it correctly.</p>
