Markham Boot Camp owner reveals “The Jersey Shore Workout”

Helloooooo there…hope you are doing fantasmic (my own word…just made it up).  You are going to love today’s post…especially if you watch the Jersey Shore and even if you don’t you will love the workout I have in store for you.

On Thursday I got to hit up the TEDxToronto after party where I got to rub elbows with some super cool people doing big things in Toronto.  A lot of young professionals and entrepreneurs were there shootin the breeze and trading ideas.  It was pretty awesome.

I am such a geek…they had this display on their wall where everyone can see “Tweets” (Twitter) from people attending the event.  Being the attention seeker that I am I had to get my post up on that wall…it was so cool I had to take a picture of it:

Yes, I am a geek!

I also got to meet up with NotableTv.com’s main host and all around cool guy Julian Brass. If you don’t know Julian, he is one of the young entrepreneurs to look out for in the next couple of years. He came out with NotableTv where he gets to interview people like: The Mayor of Toronto, Emmanuel Chiriqui (from Entourage) and a host of well known celebs.

NotableTv.com and GoGirlBootcamps.com

Definitely a guy to know if you want the low down on all the hot events in Toronto. Big shout out to that man!

Last week I was working with my Markham boot camp girls and came up with a crazy workout I like to call:

The Jersey Shore Workout aka. The GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry) Workout

Gym Tan Laundry

I wouldn’t say I’m a religious Jersey Shore fanatic but I have to admit that when I want chill and be entertained for an hour…this is the show I choose to watch. Though every time I watch it, I do feel that I lost a couple of brain cells in the process.

Also my friend Jimmy has also given my the nickname “The Situation”…so that just makes me  want to watch it even more!

The thing about the people on the Jersey Shore is…it’s all about the arms and midsection. I don’t recommend you to go the gym and have an “Arms and Abs day” to tone up those areas because full body circuit training workouts RULE in that aspect.

But I do like to have fun in my boot camps so as long as I incorporate a full body aspect to direct arm training…IT’S ALL GOOD IN THE HOOD.

Here is the Jersey Shore Workout we did in camp:

We did 1 Minute Metabolism Maximizer workouts (50 seconds on 10 seconds off, 4 rounds non stop)

1. Kettlebell Jersey Shore Fist Pumps aka. Side raises
2. Cross Body Mountain Climbers
3. TRX Tricep Extensions
4. Stability Ball Ab Crunches with weights
5. Mountain Jumpers

Finished off with a set of Tabata Squat and Presses.  Here are some of the girls in action:

25 Girls/One Goal - To get into incredibly sexy and confident shape

If you don’t have access to those types of equipment or the timing sound track we used, I would do this:

4 Sets (Do these sets 4 times in a circuit) Click on the exercise to see a video description of the workout.

1. Twisting Squat and presses x 12 per side
2. Cross Body Mountain Climbers x 20 per side
3. Close grip tricep pushups x 15
4. 2 Point Bridges x 12 per side
5. Mountain Jumpers x 15

Finish it off with an interval workout on the treadmill.

Alright, I hope you enjoyed this post!  Leave a comment below and let me know what you thought of it!

Dedicated to your fitness results,

Ps.  I just got this from one of my boot camp members:

THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO!  I love my boot camp members!!
